A paradox is an apparently self-contradictory statement — or one which runs contrary to our expectation — the underlying meaning of which is revealed only by careful scrutiny. Data can often be misleading, and the results we come up with can seem absurd, even if they are correct! And that is where statistical paradoxes come in to rack your brain!
